"You are so beautiful...to me"
There have been a few times over the span of my life when I have seen various statues and sculptures. Some stood out to me such as this sculpture of the Venus Willendorf. This is only one example of a few sculptures ranging back to 24,000 BC.
These buxom body types were considered to be attractive by their artists and culture (and this blogger).
This is such a lovely example of "beauty in the eyes of the beholder". Not only that, I think ancient peoples were more in touch with nature and what is naturally beautiful. In our society today, there is so much emphasis on the artificial, that some seek to impose artificiality onto the shape of the human body...unfortunately, disproportionately on the shape of the female body. One other point occurred to me. What if this was a representation of the typical woman that existed back then? If so, we truly do live in paradise lost. lol What do you all think?
