What do you put in your kids' lunches? My daughter just got a note home from school saying that they can't bring peanut products anymore b/c some of the children have allergies. I've tried sending soup in a can, pimento cheese sandwiches, and a few other things, but nothing seems to be working. Any ideas for protein?

Try Yogurt.  Even the trix yogurts and the gogurt or whatever they call it is good.  Yogurt is good for you in general, plus it has a pretty good amount of protein.

What about tuna fish sandwiches? My husband makes really good tuna fish salad that even my kids will eat.

When I was younger I would not eat meat for the longest time.  My mom would have to trick me to get protein into me.  She would get protein bars and say they were candy bars and she would give up veggies with protein since I loved my veggies.  She would even mix protein powder in my drinks.  Luckily I grew out of it but it certainly worked for those couple of picky years.

I would suggest trying cheese cubes. My daughter also can't bring any nut products to school and this has been our solution so far (knock on wood). I figure when she gets tired of the cheese, we can try yogurt with the mix-ins since she likes those pretty well.

How about some soup? They have those that are single size servings. She might like some alphabet soup.

Hi, Ladies.  I have a similar situation.

My babies will move to the Toddler Room at their daycare next month.  They are not allowed to have food that must be heated or prepared.  Unfortunately, my daughter won't take solids yet...she's on jarred food.  I don't believe in sending Lunchables or hot dogs, which have little nutritional value.  I'm kind of traditional in the "make a big dinner for leftovers" June Cleaver way.  That leaves me with a predicament.  She will take yogurt.  I'm concerned for her calorie intake.  Any suggestions?  THANKS!

You may want to try to give her food a little bit cooler each time. Maybe (but just maybe) she'll get used to having food that is cold by the time she has to make the change. They also have those little things like Lunchables in the baby aisle. I'm sure they cost a small fortune, but they may be healthier than the Lunchables.

Are they worried that kids are going to be sharing their lunches?

I would do the cheese cubes and maybe something like chicken nuggets or chicken strips, which have protein in them.
