I have stumble upon this site while trying to help out a friends daughter, she suffers from a very cruel condition called VBH (Virginal Breast Hypertrophy) basically this means she has an hormone deficiantcy and her Breasts are growing to an abnormal size, currently she is so large that when she goes out she has to go in a wheelchair because of the size (and length) of her breasts (she is only 17),they now drop well below her waist and the mass of this sticks out of the side also making it very dificult to walk, she walked with crutches for some time but has to now use a wheelchair and she hates this loss of independence,although she still mobilises at home with a walking frame on wheels, my question is this do any of you know of any websites that could help with customised bras and general advice, unfortunatly she is still growing so having to cope with this is terrible, not least the 'social' effect, I wish to help her as best as I can!

Thank you for the post.  I am familiar with this condition.  It can be very difficult.  It may be a good idea to ask her to come here to ask questions and share her experiences so that she can get direct feedback.

Hi, I don't think she will be comfortable talking here, she is only 17 and very embarresed about her situation, it is hard enough talking openly on a one to one, but she has opened up to me which is good, and also she doesn't know i have posted about her, so kind of puts me a difficult situation! i just wanted to give her some web links, i will pass the details of this site on to her tho, but was hoping I could help her with web site links about custom/medical support bra's (??)  specifically for VBH?

They should be able to point you in the right direction.  Also, my large-breasted sister uses Lucy Vandemeer out of Canada.  Sounds like you'd be paying $250+ per bra for her needs.
