Does anyone know any pieces composed during the Renaissance /medieval periods that are famous today? I know this is an odd question, but I have some friends that are trivia buffs and I need to be prepared for Thanksgiving dinner...

This is the time when troubadours starting becoming popular, so not much of the music is written down. However, the Cantigas de Santa Maria is a collection of songs written down during this time. Sacred music in the form of Gregorian chants were also common.
