How long do you think I can get away with putting hairbows in my daughter's hair? I love them, but I don't want her to be picked on for wearing them.

What kind of hair bow? As lame as it sounds, I'm a 21 year old guy who has hair down to my shoulder blades, and I wear ribbons in my hair instead of a scrunchies or whatever, I tie it up with ribbon. Kinda like the old fashions of the 17 and 1800s. But how do you put them, cause that could be dependent.

It's actually a southern thing, so maybe you haven't seen them? It's the quintessential picture of the little girl in the long smocked dress with a tied bow in her hair. Basically, you part the hair to one side, gather up the front part of one side, and put a hair tie in it. Then, you put a hairbow on that so it looks like the hairbow is holding the hair back. For a good example, to the chez ami, kelly's kids, or ragsland websites.

I started tapering their use when my girls went into K-5. Then, by first grade, I quit using them all together.

I'm going out on a limb here, but I really can't stand those things! They remind me of rich snobby girls I grew up with. Maybe it's just that I have a bad association with them, but I think they're pretty tacky.
