Does anyone else do photography as a hobby?

What kind of camera do you use?  I have a Canon that I use, but I am saving up for a new Nikon that I have had my eyes on for a couple months now.

I like taking pictures, but not as a serious hobby.  I am thinking of getting a new digital too since I dropped mine and the bottom cracked.  Sometimes the screen goes dead for a while because of that which is really annoying.

I have noticed that my digital cameras do not last half as long as my old 35mm camera once did.  I think I still have that thing somewhere.

I don't do photography, but I do like to paint in my free time.  Not that I have a lot but I do it when I can.  I do paint from some photography though, it is easier for me to do that than just pick a spot and paint what I see.
