If you are trying to lose weight is it better to stop drinking alcohol?  Someone told me that it actually causes you to put on more weight especially when you sart working out more.

I'd imagine it's fine if you don't drink in excess.  You have to remember, alcohol, like pop, or smoothies and the like is  really a bunch of empty, and unneeded calories.

Like Caladblog said, alcohol can have a lot of calories.  But I think it depends on what you are drinking too, because some drinks (especially cocktails) have way more calories than other drinks and since they cause you to dehydrate your body reacts differently.

I think it is possible to put on a few pounds immediately after a night of drinking, but as soon as it flushes out of your system you should be back to normal.

All alcoholic drinks are different but everything in moderation.  If you are really trying to improve your health and drop weight I dont think adding alcohol is a smart thing anyway.  A little consumption though to celebrate can't hurt though.
