I finally went and did it. I started taking old people drugs. I knew this day would come.  I really hate to take pills.  The good news is it helps. Does anyone have natural medicines that can do the trick?

I started on Alleve after my kids were born.  It had the side benefit of helping my back.  It wasnt hurting so much because of my chest, I had an injury a few years ago.

I have back pain too but I am not sure if it's from my chest or not.  Sometimes just doing housework will trigger it.  Aleve is supposed to be better than Ibuprofen or Tylenol but to be honest it barely touches it for me.  I just rest and take it easy and it subsides after a day or so.

What I was wondering is if anyone else is getting shoulder grooves.  I don't like those gel pad things for under the strap.  They just dig more - maybe they don't fit me the right way.

And bathing suit season is upon us.  Ugh.   I still don't own any two-pieces.  Do any of you pay the extra $$$ for a company to custom-size your tops and bottoms?  I just skip the drama and wear a moo-moo one-piece.  :)

This response isn't really about back pain but is in response to AnaheimJills questions about bikinis.I have found a website that lists about 5 companies that have swimwear for women with large breasts.

It's at www.living-with-large-breasts.com

A shot of whiskey helps a lot too.

Though I certainly don't have chest-related back pain, I recovered from a pretty painful athletic injury to my back.  One of the most useful pieces of advice I received from a doctor was to learn exactly how each "pain reliever" works.

Some pain relievers simply block our ability to receive pain messages while others actually block prostaglandins, the chemicals which incite inflamation.  Aleve is one of these sorts of medications and is apparently chemically similar to the prescription medication Naprosyn, which my ex girlfriend was prescribed for her back pain.

In the end, the solution to my back pain was an odd one- I had to strengthen my stomach muscles.  My ex, whose back pain was almost surely related to her chest, followed the same advice and felt so much better that she changed her mind about a reduction.

For what it's worth ;)
