My brother brought a girl home for Christmas and said they weren't romantically involved at all. It brought that age old question to mind: do you think girls and guys can have a truly nonromantic relationship?

Nope! I don't buy it. I don't think there can be a relationship b/w a straight man and a straight woman that doesn't have some sexual tension in it, even on an unconscious level.

I half way agree with you. I think that often one of the pair is not attracted to the other person at all in any way. But, then I think the other person is attracted to the friend on some level.

I've seen it work for others, even friends who ended up getting together for a little while.  But I can't do it, never works out.

I dont think they can really work, but it is possible to hang out with someone that you have feelings for, for a really long time.  There will be lots of tension though and you will most likely be frustrated but it is possible.  I think the rest of the platonic relationships though always end up with people hooking up.
