I am not sure where to put this post.  Sorry if it's in the wrong place.

When I first joined Sweater Doves, I entered my bra size as 44DD.  Since then, I have been sized as a 44DDD, 46C, 46D, 46DD, 44G and 44H.  I have gained about 10 pounds (trying to lose it and some more!).  I was measured at two lingerie shops.  Sure, there's water weight gain.  I also realize that American and European sizing is different (therefore the 44G and 44H (Primadonna) bras). I am just fortunate to get some bras that fit properly (not all of mine do).  I know it's harder for a lot of women.

It's still a dizzying array of sizes to think about when shopping for bras!

I got sized as 46C and 46D at  Dor-Ne Corset Shoppe (in Silver Spring, MD) and the bras I bought no longer fit well.  Sylene (in DC) has sized me at 44DD, 44G and 44H and those bras are fine.  The other sizes were my best tries at WalMart.

My guess is that my weight fluctutation is probably half my problem.  It does make bra shopping harder.

I have the same problem, different manufacturers sizing is different to thers especially the cup sizing. I normally wear a Fantasie, but have to go up a cup size for a Panache and two cup sizes for a Prima Donna (when my dad or mum is buying).

I do know that the sizing in the US is different but I don't think we get many US imports of bras - that would just confuse us!

Hello @ all

Maybe these links will help you to get a better overview :

http://www.plussizebras.info/

http://www.plussizebras.info/guides.html

I also found a site where you can calculate and compare bra sizes from different countries (lower section, below the pics) :

http://www.big-cups.de/shop/index.php?s=a7701859b75c932a0bb8831f3bf8edf4&p=bh_groesse

It's a pity this site is only available in german language. So i translated the important quotes, i think the country table on the right speaks for itself.

Überbrustweite = upper bra size / bust line

Unterbrustweite = rib cage size / under bust

1 inch = 2,5 cm

Have fun and success !

Thanks for this, I have seen most of these appart from the German website which I must have a look at when I have time.  We are now getting more European manufacturers in the UK and sometimes their sizing is different to UK sizing so a different website/pespective is pretty good.  If the website has customer feedback like figleaves I always read the comments also, I hope those if they exist are not in German!

My profile says 38k, but my girlfriend says they measured wrong and now (after slight weight gain) I am a 40l! Is that unusual?
